It may come in, like my previous small essays in some of my books<\/span>……
\nBut today I just share my soul with you<\/span>.
\nWe say writers have special souls, sensitive and insightful<\/span>
\nWe say that writers, like artists, are weird, flaky and odd…..<\/span>
\nToday, I do not argue<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\u00a0I’m talking about clouds today…..<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\n
\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 ……when I was small, I believed in fairy tales.<\/span>
\nAnd I loved that my grandmother to tell them to me<\/span>.
\nFrom fairy tales, I learned three things:<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

\n-first: that\u00a0 could be a happy ending<\/span>………..<\/span><\/div>\n

\n-the second:\u00a0 that there may not be a happy ending<\/span>………<\/span><\/div>\n

\n-the third: that when someone die, their souls leave the body.<\/span>…….<\/span><\/div>\n

\nJust go out\u00a0 the body and all.<\/span>
\nAnd the body is buried or burned.<\/span>
\nNow I’m not a little girl anymore.<\/span>
\nBut it remains in me.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
…….when I lived as an adult woman in the Middle East, in Jordan, the terrain there is mountainous<\/span><\/span>….<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
\n
\n
……In seasons….in rainy storms, my husband( a doctor) returning after a night duty,often said that they could not save a serious sick patient.<\/span>The patient was died.
\nAnd I looked at the window, saw how heavy, spherical gray, dark clouds lay over the city.<\/span>
\nThese big watery clouds seemed to collect the souls of dead people.<\/span>
\nThey collected and slowly crawled into the mountains.<\/span>
\nAnd so it was in the days of changing seasons, in early spring and late autumn.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
It repeated every season<\/span>
\n……Clouds floated low over the city and collected the souls of the dead seriously ill……<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
I<\/span> live in Toronto now.<\/span>
\nThere are no such clouds.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
The clouds here are far from the earth<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Very far from us…..very very far…….
\n<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
I continue to believe that the souls of the dead come out of their bodies before death<\/span><\/span>.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\n
\n
But in Toronto I am afraid the night, which takes souls.<\/span>
\nNights here are evil, dark, scary and merciless<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\n
The night that takes the souls of seriously ill patients<\/span><\/p>\n

I’m sorry I’m in that mood today<\/span>
\nI told you that we, writers + artist, are weird.<\/span>
\nToday, one sweet, bright, kind soul went into the night……..<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
