At the end of the year, we always summarize the past .
Now it’s time to show and analyze the past year.
As a whole, it is much more successful for me then 2018 year.

I participated in several exhibitions and it was successful.

I’m talking about my work and participation in exhibitions.

I have already gained strength again to leave the Toronto with a large exhibition next year.
I accept invitations from you )) worldwide .
I am interested in exhibiting my new works, getting to know artists and seeing new cities in the world.
I hope that next year it will come true.

Therefore, I again uploaded by here the last film I edited, which presents various works by Canadian artists from several exhibitions.

This is a wonderful work done by acrylic and/or oil.

I tried to show you the versatility of the work.
I like that all the techniques of the artists are mixed here in one exhibition.
The exhibitions shows as rich, heterogeneous.

It must be emphasized that the organizers of the exhibitions gave artists the freedom to carry out their designs.

Not the end of the year yet, but I can summarize the year 2019.

In my opinion, my best work painted by me over the past time is this painting.

Very gentle work. I drew it quickly and did not correct at all.
In general, I really like the whole selection of paintings of that style and time.
There is movement in it, there is tenderness, airiness. There is a search for femininity

Today I will talk to you about just one topic.
Petrykivka painting……my Petrykivka paintings.
I have been engaged in this kind of folklore painting during 20 years.
This is my business card to the world of art. I started the first paintings in Petrykivka style more than 20 years ago and still painting.

This is my paintings in Petrykivka style

Petrykivka painting is one of the oldest types of folk painting in Ukraine.
It originates from the village of Petrikovka, Dnipropetrovsk region,Ukraine.

Separate items remained with this style of painting since the 18th century.
However, in modern style, it was formed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The origin of the Petrykivka painting is associated with Cossacks and the settlement of the Dnipropetrovsk region by people from Poltava, Slobozhanshchina and Podolia.

Samples of painting in this style became popular by D. Yakornitsky and E.Evenbach. They developed in the form of wall painting (,, Malevka ,,) for interior decoration.
They were painted on folk tools, chests, sleighs, seeders. Drawing products in this style finished by varnishing, overglaze and underglaze porcelain painting, glass painting, painting leather wallets. Also, patterns were taken for embroidery blouses and towels.

Now Petrykivka painting was formed as an independent type of decorative graphics and widely spread throughout the world as an original separate art school.

Petrykivka style of painting is characterized by a floral ornament that continues the traditions of Ukrainian Baroque.
It uses a variety of colors and compositions with various materials and techniques
Can be made with watercolor, oil, gouache, acrylic, tempera with homemade brushes (made from cat wool) or fingers, pipette, reed sticks on a light, black or colored background.

In January 2013, Petrykovka style painting was brought to the intangible cultural heritage of Ukraine by order of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.

On December 5, 2013, the Petrykinka painting was included in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (UNESCO)

I bring my little piece in continuation of this style of painting.

2019 Year of Pig

Very unimproved this 2019 year.
Started with big changes on all my fronts what I liked.
I quickly do a lot of work, especially in art spectrum.
I had to give up unnecessary art programs, in which I am included.
I refused from unnecessary exhibitions, where I come to participate.
I concentrated on this my personal site and expanded into a range of sales of paintings within Canada.
I must say, I do not waiting very high sales results.
Canadian art sales market is uninteresting and predicted.
Sales are very slow and the artist has large losses from them.

I’ll tell you what happened immediately after the publication of my painting on the local sales network.
I published a painting showing a photo here.
This 5 x 7 my original work is made with oil on the canvas.
I showed this work before the February holidays of St. Valentine. I published that the buyers bought it as a gift to the collection.
The price I set the minimum, just for my 45 dollars.
I posted.
And this painting was arrested. The site’s customs. Two days were considered and thought what to do with it. As a result, they decided not to let it go for sale and asked me to remove it from sale.
This painting is published on my personal website. Here, in the section of my work, you can find it.And open for sale.
I’m sorry, that’s the way it turns out.
But we, artists, are mistaken for strange people…… although I don’t see anything strange in this.

This is just my mood now.

Yes, it’s winter outside.
Yes, it’s cold outside.
Yes, everything has changed in color, since when I arrived on this land.))

It was green, warm, sunny.
It became cold, frosty and monotonously gray.

In my mind the same color changing.
It is not related to my mood.
Not at all.
I let go.
I relaxed, not to suffer from the problems.

I came to the conclusion that the best condition now is to get relax in this situation.
And I get it.
I am extremely fruitfully working now to collect as much artistic material as possible,which I lack in Canada.
I attend exhibitions held in Kiev in these months.
I walk a few kilometers every day for healthy body.
I meet people and new places.

I must say that the city is changing very quickly. It is an amazing city. I love Kiev.
Kiev reminds me the sea.
Imagine the surf…………
This is a wave that is gaining strength.
The wave rolls to the shore.
So, for me, this city is always the same, sandy, gray shore.))
And the waves that roll on him are all sorts of changes, sometimes events, sometimes people, actions……
The waves are rolling. They are trying to change the shore, raking, washing away the sand.
And the shore as it was stay……did not change.

My mood today is like this beautiful bench in this one photo.
All white.
But it is special white.
Not completely white, with colorchanging. It is snow, winter and cold.
And the bench, it’s me that this winter has covered with cold and snow.
And whatever I wanted, no matter how I spun … I have to cover myself with this snow … and stand.

Incredible August notes

Outside the window, August shines with the sun.
It means half a year has passed…..August is present…Incredible August.

It means again soon the excruciatingly long Canadian cold winter….wow and oh….
It means how I’m close into the business and will slowly plan and implement new ideas.

But today last summer month and last warm days.

As a southerner I like to spend time under the sun.
I like to sunbathe under it, bathe in its rays.

It was amazing cast and crew.

Time ran very quickly and in August I already with all responsibility sat down for writing a script about Jewish boys.

Script name is #Journeytothefuture @Journey to the future it is future’s film script about two boys’s traveling from Galicia to Ukraine to the coveted America

It is comedy.It is me second future film script.It is also second script road movie and second about traveling in Ukraine/comedy.

I’m not specifically writing this, it’s a coincidence.
But the last scenario is not quite easy.
It is undoubtedly very interesting.
For me this immersion in the 1930s. For the history of this layer is very undiscovered.
And what I find in the description of that time, I want to cry,
but I’m writing a comedy.

I love my job very much.
These are unrepeatable impressions.
This is a thousand times better impressions than playing on stage as an actor.(for me)
It is not easy to write that, because in the film there will be four languages: Yiddish, Polish, Ukrainian and Russian.

Not having the right to describe everything, I will only show a few photos that will reflect the idea of the film
I am very interested in the idea and I am completely captured by it.

April’s Petrykivka.Part two

Most recently, I wrote a post about getting started in Petrykivsky style.
Today I publish to you the completed work.

This is a photo of a completed work.
April Petrykivka is over.
I was fortunate through an all-powerful facebook to consult a talented artist from Ukraine HALYNA NAZARENKO

When I drew a painting, I asked her for advice. She advised me to put the flowers together in a wreath.
I made it.

Of course this is happiness when you draw Petrykivka.
Extraordinary impressions.
I just say one word-charm))
When you create a composition, you draw shapes, you sketch outlines with a pencil, you do not see the whole painting as a whole.
Then you color it in a tone. Then you amplify that tone. The color often wilts and you have to repeat it again.
It turns out multilayered oil paint.
I know that many people paint with acrylic or gouache on paper.
I paint with oil. This is my underscore.
After the first sketch of the picture, you give it a rest. The paints settle down and in the second time you draw an ornament.
When everything is already done, you shape the shapes of leaves and flowers.
Again you give shadows and backgrounds to the painting.
At the end, you repeat everything anew with a hardly visible dark warm tone to match the color.
Again you let it dry week.
And then the most important time begins for me. When I highlight the individual parts of the flower or leaf. The most unique thing is that the main thing here is the movement of the brush. From the center to the periphery or from the periphery to the center.

Where you can hang such a picture?
You ask yourself a question.
,,Everywhere ,,-is my answer.
This painting is harmonious both in the bedroom and in the hallway.
It can be hung in the salon and in the kitchen.
It is compatible both in a large hall and in a small cafe.
It simply needs to either increase in size or reduce.

Such a pattern can be decorated and clothes and utensils.
In recent years, such an ornament is very popular in everyday life.

My submission for Alefba Juried Art Exhibition was approve and my artwork has been selected.

EXHIBITION: April 18 to April 28

OPENING RECEPTION: Wednesday, April 18, from 7pm to 9pm

CLOSING RECEPTION: Saturday, April 28, from 4pm to 6pm

I invite everyone who adores art and want to visit this festival of culture and enjoy the atmosphere.
This year the exhibition is devoted to caligraphy.
I already wrote in the previous post …….
I liked to work in this direction. It’s an amazing feeling when you create something that gives the painting with double meaning-name (caligraphy) and an image.
I studied the Arabic language. Now I just remembered him and drawing, saw in the bends-sense.
I will present several pictures at the exhibition.
I will tell you about each of them today.

The first is a ,,Cat,,

It was slowly being created.

I drew it using a mixed relief technique.

Covered her with oil paint.

A light tone gave a very large volume. I did not see the point in it and painting was lying for two years.

When I sorted through the paintings that I keep in a certain place, I saw this work, I touched it. I really like her relief. But then I put it back, because it did not fit the topic where I was working in at that time.
That continued until I was invited to participate in the exhibition.
I opened the files with all the photos of my works. Again this picture interested me. I took it out. Moved fron side to side. I looked.

I had an idea, in the waves that were in the picture, to put a blue thin lazy cat))
It took several minutes. I changed the background from pink to bluish. When the painting was finished and I photographed it, I was already confident that ,,Cat,, would get to the exhibition.
I even wrote about this in the previous post (see below)
This was confirmed by the jury, taking the painting to the exhibition.
So my blue lazy cat went for a walk around Toronto))

Another interesting story occurred with a triple-scale work.

This work is more of a decorative nature.

It’s also about two years old.

The same embossed stucture technology.
I made it from three different sized canvasses. In the central canvas, an oval framed by a relief.
Side panels as crescents mirror the central image.

Here I worked more on toning the relief.

In the end, I highlighted some curves. They showed up very nicely.
The painting also stood for a long time, it, like the previous one, dried up and gave its basic color.
When I looked at it, I saw on it the Arabian caligraphy. I finished it just recently and prepared it for the exhibition. In the end, I covered it with varnish for safety and preventing discoloration and contour.

In parallel with the preparation for the exhibition, I’m preparing to sell my work, which will be held on April 21 in Halendas/Dundas Street West

And one more great event, to which I am preparing. This is the teachers’ meeting in Toronto, which will be held in early May.

Christmas time

I love winter and the period before Christmas.This is a magical time.

This is Christmas time.

For me in general it is divided into two parts. This is the time of the Catholic Christmas on December 24 and the time of the Orthodox Christmas on January 6.

I am from selected people who prepare on holidays in advance and celebrate for a long time.

Because through time I divided the celebration into two parts.

The first part with my children and the second with my parents.
I just pray that my already elderly parents live longer.

December is always a very busy month, which is connected with meetings and corporate parties.

Christmas time…….Christmas time…..
This year there are also a lot of them.
But in the midst of the bustle, it’s not hard to see how my city is getting ready for Christmas.

I will show you, my readers this time and tell about it.

I run through the streets and see these transformations.

This big old city is changing.

And I want to show these changes to you.

The city is simply transformed radically.

In the parks everything froze in natural beauty.

Storefronts are decorated.

In the squares are built Christmas markets.

This is Christmas time…….

Street bazaars call for sales and on them a lot of Christmas toys, souvenirs, hats and clothes.

The millions of colorful lights and decorative lighting are lit up.

Even gloomy banks look brighter and more festive.

The cafes dazzle with some new delicacies and scenery.

Large and elegant malls and small stores are called to pre- Christmas discounts.

Christmas time……Christmas time……

Beauty,which bewitches and ravages the eye.

Many historical places of the city are preparing in December their programs dedicated to Christmas.

It’s Allen Garden and AGO and Fort York and Nathan Square.

In the Nathan Square opened traditional skating.

Now everyone who lives in Toronto can come back after work and skate
Sometimes it’s couples with children.

This is Christmas time.

The changes touched every house in the city.

Everyone is trying to prepare the facades of houses smartly for Christmas.

Ancient buildings look great and I like to photograph them.

Modern buildings shine with windows and metal finishes.

These buildings are so easily combined, as easily in this city the old and the new styles live.

Year round red double-floor bus carries tours on the Dundas Street West.

The people saying goodbye to each other, say:,, Merry Christmas!,,

Yes,it is Christmas time.

Of course this is the month of philanthropy.
Especially at such a time you feel compassion for the hungry, homeless and sick people.

When near the Allan Gardens in a small area the homeless of the whole district gathered to disassemble a huge bunch of winter clothes brought by him, I thanked the

people who helped them to exist.

A city cleared of debris and foliage, many places in the center of the city are still blocked by construction, but this is normal for a constantly renewed city.

Recently changed the flights of streetcars from wide and high to more flat, the streetcars themselves changed, which became less noisy and with low enter’s steps.
Low, specifically for people with disabilities on wheelchairs.

This year winter came slowly.
It’s seemed to come quietly every day.
And now, when I’m writing this post-outside the window, it’s already snowing all over.
Snowing will be all next week too.
Ten days still before the Christmas.
